Bjork: Volta

Bjork: Volta

M/M have done well to “out weird” the previous Bjork covers with this design for Volta. The sculpture by Bernhard Willhelm, a famous fashion designer, is a mix between a Russian Doll and a melted bag of Chuppa Chups.

Here’s a behind the scenes photo of the sculpture without Bjork inside.

It looks like the sculpture had to be held up with a chain. So we won’t be seeing this on the catwalk or live gig anytime soon.

The album is also available in a limited edition with special packaging check the promotional site created for the album for more info on this version.

I also found this paper craft version while researching this design. Get the templates here.

  1. Best Bjork cover since Post. They were all getting a bit samey, so it’s nice to see Bjork do something so juicy. Shame the album sounds like Bjork doing Bjork.

  2. I had no idea they actually built this bizarro costume, I thought it was a Photoshop job. Pretty awesome to see someone taking cover art so seriously.

  3. Too bad for the outline. It looks photoshopped and passé because of it.

  4. The white outline is because it’s a sticker.

  5. Hey Jams,

haha that makes sense now why it has the white border. My Bad
