Album Art
I always feel the urge to fake the fact I haven’t heard of these artists in a feeble attempt to sound knowledgeable and up to date. But sadly all I can say is I really like the cover art. It fits perfect with the music while being original and visually striking. It’s also campaignable. I [...]
The simplicity and humor of this albums cover reminds me of XTC’s Ten Feet Tall. The brief must have come in with the album name and then it would have been “You know what let’s whack a sandwhich on the cover” then they went out and got wasted.
Rocking Tunes: Check Kicking type treatment: Check Iconic Characters: Check Merchandise coming out of their asses: Check Band members not dead: Check Business Savvy: Check No, it’s not KISS it’s Iron Maiden. Up the Irons! You have to hand it to Iron Maiden and their dedication to their mascot Eddie. He’s gotta be second to [...]
I initially though the packaging for ALB’s album was of a retro sandwhich iron. Yum! I love toasted sandwhiches but Charlie from Discograph informed me it was actually a retro 45 record player called a “Univox Mange-Disque” manufactured from 1975-1980. This made a lot more sense than having the CD package based of a toaster. [...]
It’s a testiment to the Rolling Stones that the original Rolled Gold (the best of) was released over 30 years ago. This version has been titled Rolled Gold+ and you have to thank someone for not calling in Rolled Gold 2.0 which was probably mentioned in a meeting. Thankfully this version of the album not [...]

Normally we wouldn’t post two album covers for the same band so close together but it just so happens I was sent supporting artwork for both covers at the same time and they are both uniquely different. They are both Aussie two which means that many of you might not have seen these covers. This [...]
This is such great art for a heart-on-the-sleeve indie-folk album. Nothing that makes a statement, nothing iconic, just a pure – if a little cheap – visual representation of the feel of the album. The introspection and self awareness of those halcyon days when you have had time to languish around in the grass and [...]
Kisschasy’s second album “Hymns for the Nonbeliever” takes the form of an old bible which was inspired by the album’s title. The band actually briefed the studio with “we want a bible” and Mathematics took it from there.
