I posted above the Jester character in Wilkinson's Wicker Man painting may be a reference to all of the Marillion covers he did.

On the full sleeve version of Mark Wilkinson's "Wicker Man" painting, there is a Jester character, maybe a reference to all of the early Marillion covers he painted with the Jester as a reoccurring figure.

The reason for the Wicker Man cover features Bruce and the rest of the band is because it's a callback to The Number of the Beast. That was Bruce's first album with the band, and if you look on the back there's a picture of the band with Bruce holding a torch. Bruce left the band in 93, but rejoined in 99, and the first thing released after that was The Wicker Man single. That cover was a sign that the iconic lineup of the band had returned.

Another cover that I like is the Maiden Japan cover that was used on the Brazilian release. The normal cover features Eddie holding a samurai sword. The Brazilian cover features Eddie with the sword, but he's also holding the severed head of vocalist Paul Di'Anno, representing his departure from the band.

Mine has that too, but maybe it's done to because there are 2 versions of Eddie's Archive. The first run and the 2nd, the reissue. I think the first version has "Up the Irons". And 2nd, which I have, has "Maiden Rule" on it.
