interesting that people in this topic actually go beyond the aesthetics & into the way culture is permeated with actual teaching. It’s not like you should compare the symbolic saturation of MJ’s communication on this album with a church sermon; church sermons teach while their audience knows it’s being informed or even instructed.
With so much popular culture, it’s like guidance is in the drinking water. We just gobble it up. I agree with david on that.

This is one of my favorite album covers. It’s right up there with Earth, Wind & Fire’s “All n All”, The Beatles “Revolver” and “Sgt Pepper” album covers. I love album covers like this. It makes the music that much more “colorful” when you listen to the album.
