I reckon plain old advertising is a better model rather than changing the editorial content of the blog.

Stick some ads in the sidebar. Sell off the banner. I don't think people would begrudge you for that.

I would have to agree with the other posters, that the best feature of this site is that it deals soley with iconic, beautifully designed and memorable album art.

I also do like sites and features on iconic design, but I think it would be better applied as a seperate blog – maybe (designage!) – where if there is some elemental crossover between the artistic design of a record sleeve and other design influences, then it can be linked here to the other design blog. This wouldn't confuse the subject materials and to incorporate both under one heading is a bit of a misnomer.

That's my two pence, if you do go down the road of seperate blogs, I'll bookmark them both.

PS. Excuse my bluntness – but like most of the other commenters, i'm a fan of the blog, i think it's great what you do here, and this sort of post really dilutes that.

It smacks of PR. The sort of thing you'd write because you were given a free bean bag. Whether or not that's the case, even the appearance of that tarnishes the good sleevage reputation.

You should be proud that people react strongly against it – it shows you've been doing the right thing all along and people are passionate about it.

Everything is getting contaminated with advertisements… and now one of the best blogs around….. how much did you get paid for this? otherwise why would you do free advertisement,…. is this bean bag that good?……. best thing you can do is erase this post and pretend it never happened… love your blog… please don't change it for something like this…
