I think you guys should do an article on Vitalogy. It came in packaging similar to
a book and had random medical facts inside the pages. And this is an awesome site.

I BOUGHT THIS ALBUM IN 1996, I DID NOT APPRECIATE COMPLETELY TILL ABOUT 2003. I THINK IT IS TO PEARL JAMS CREDIT THAT THE ALBUM WAS NOT OVER PROMOTED AND LET THE FEW PEOPLE WHO REALLY CARE ABOUT THE MUSIC APPRECIATE IT FOR WHAT IT IS.

I really love this artwork for "No Code"! In my opinion PJ's best artwork together with "VS" and "Yield".

I remember getting this album and listening to Eddie Vedder singing lines like 'Hail hail the lucky ones, I refer to those in love...' and just marvelling at having listened to the guy grow up. He wears his heart on his sleeve and to hear the anger of Satan's Bed from the previous album turn into Present Tense and Hail Hail... astounding. Jack Irons best work with the band. Mike Mccready's guitar ACTUALLY sounded like a mosquito on Red Mosquito. this album is definitely their most underrated and suffered only from a lack of promotion as they chose to manicure their career and did no music videos. A travesty. In My Tree is a massive, dense, sincere moment. The whole album is, in my opinion, a masterpiece.

Here here. It is their best record, but then again they dont really put out bad records. I remember when it came out and myself and only 2 of my friends would sit around and talk about how much we loved it, while everyone else labled it as crap. The packaging is also one of the most original to date. Best American rock band in the world

A great album, and as most of the other Pearl Jam records, a great packaging to go with it.

i disagree with anyone who said this was a bad record. in my oppinion it's their best. i didn't know what to think either when i first heard it because it's so different from their previous material, but good god does it last long. i listen to it more than anything else they've done, still.

the artwork of course only adds to that growing feeling that this is a massively under appreciated work. the polaroids inside and the hidden glyph all just make it more involving.

so yeah - go listen to 'off he goes' & 'around the bend' & get ready to give it another chance.
